Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Loopite (loopite.com) is operated by Kevin Chen, of Indiana. This policy covers the information Loopite handles about diners, restaurants and creators.

2. What we collect

Diners:

• a random ID saved in a cookie on your phone, so the site remembers your visit;
• your visits: which restaurant, which creator's code, the time, and the claim number;
• a scrambled (hashed) version of your network address, only to spot abuse. We never store the address itself;
• if you choose "Save with Google": your Google account ID and email, so your visits follow you to any phone;
• anything you send us in a report.

Restaurants and creators:

• your name, email and Google account ID from Google sign-in, and your phone number if you give it;
• your profile: the restaurant's name, address, phone, reward and average check; or your handles, city, follower and view numbers, local audience share, sample video link, how you want to be paid and your price;
• photos you upload (we remove location data from them);
• screen recordings of your app's analytics you send us, used only to check your numbers;
• your deals, their results, reports and (when turned on) ratings;
• for restaurants, the counter devices you pair (a label and when each was last used);
• for creators we pay, your payment details and a tax form (W-9) when the law requires one.

Everyone: your language choice, and the basic technical logs our hosting providers keep (such as network address and browser type).

3. Why we use it

• to run deals: give out codes, count visits, and show results to the restaurant and creator of that deal;
• to stop fake or repeated claims;
• to bill restaurants and pay creators, and keep the records tax law requires;
• to check creators' numbers and show the creator list (only what creators choose to show);
• to contact you about your account and your deals;
• to improve Loopite, using combined information that doesn't identify you;
• to follow the law and protect Loopite and its users.

4. Who sees it

• Restaurants and creators see visit counts, times and claim numbers for their own deals, never a diner's name or email.
• The creator list (only for creators who choose to be on it) shows a creator's name, town, handles, audience numbers, photo and sample video, never their phone or email.
• Companies that run parts of Loopite for us: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and file storage), Google (sign-in), and, when we use them, an email provider and payment providers. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or Loopite's rights.
• A company that takes over Loopite (including a Loopite LLC), under this same policy.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

5. Cookies

Loopite uses only its own cookies, all needed for the site to work: lp_cid (a diner's random ID), lp_owner (a signed-in restaurant or creator), lp_counter (a paired counter device), lp_lang (your language) and lp_test (test mode for staff). No advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep information while it's needed to run Loopite and your deals, and records needed for billing, payments and taxes for as long as the law requires. After that we delete it or keep it only in a form that doesn't identify you.

7. Your choices

Email hello@loopite.com to see, correct or delete your information. We'll answer within 45 days. Some records (for example ones needed for taxes or to handle a dispute) may be kept as the law requires; we'll tell you if so.

Restaurants and creators can edit their profile and remove their photo at any time. Diners can clear their browser's cookies to remove the ID on their phone.

8. Children

Loopite isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information about them. If you believe a child under 13 has used Loopite, email us and we'll delete their information. Restaurants and creators must be 18 or older.

9. Keeping it safe

We use reasonable measures to protect information: sign-in through Google, encrypted connections, network addresses stored only in scrambled form, and access to the database limited to Loopite's own server. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

10. Emails and texts

We email restaurants and creators about their accounts and deals. We'll only send other emails or any text messages if you ask for them, and every one will let you stop them. We never share or sell phone numbers.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell restaurants and creators by email or on their dashboard before it takes effect, and update the date above.
